Many of our customers have previously been ordering with delivery by the Canada Post Small Packet Air or Small Packet Surface service. Canada Post has made some changes to their services. In the past both of these included insurance coverage of up to $100, which is being discontinued. Canada Post is adding a new service called Tracked Packet - USA and Tracked Packet - International. The service is slightly higher priced than the previous Small Packet service and includes tracking as well as insurance up to $100.
On the odd occasion when a Small Packet shipment had gone astray, Canada Post had been waiting 45 days to start a ticket on Small Packet Air and 75 days to start a ticket on Small Packet Surface. With the Tracked Packet service, that waiting time is now 30 days.

Fedex International Priority is the only Fedex shipping service that will be offered through online ordering, and we pass along discounts of 25% - 50% on that service only. As of May, 2012, Fedex has changed their system from Real Time Quotes to Web Services. The discount that is applied may not be exactly based on the rate retrieved.

We will include suede and glazed swatch packets with a minimum order of $100, for customers not having previously received one. Cognac, a reddish brown, is a newly added color for suede carp skins. Beige has been added to available suede nile perch skins.

Our large suede perch skins are now offered in additional colors. These now include red, goldfish, royal blue, mermaid green, ebony mist, light green, purple-grape, light purple, brown-grey and purple-pink. Quantities are limited.
A few more colors have been added for the carp suede stocklots - lavendar, faded turquoise, very light green and purple. They can be ordered at the Specific Colors Stocklots page. These stocklots can include mixes of colors, instead of all being the same color.

A demerara and light demerara have been added to the Salmon Pictures. The suede 5 skin Salmon Samplers are now available in more specific colors.
Bordeaux, dusty rose, ebony mist, mediterranean blue and sunrise have been added to the Nile Perch Pictures. The suede 5 skin Nile Perch Sampler color options have been updated with more color varieties, and some specific colors for suede 25 skin Nile Perch stocklots have been added.

Our shipping package dimensions have been revised, in particular to be able to offer Canada Post Small Packet Air rates more often. The service does not include tracking, but there is an economy when compared to other shipping rates. By the Canada Post size and weight standards, this impacts quantities of up to 25 suede carp skins. A 25 suede carp skin package can be sent, for example, to Europe or Australia, for $20 by Canada Post Small Packet Air, or to the US for $10. See the Shipping and Returns page for more information.

A page to highlight the different Types of Finishes has been added. Once the tanning process has removed the scales and odor from the fish, any of these types of finishes can be created. However, we do not have all the finishes in stock in large quantities.

Samplers of our sea bass skins are now offered, as a 5 Skin Glazed Sea Bass Sampler and a 5 Skin Suede Sea Bass Sampler. They are similar in size and shape to the salmon and carp, with the scale patterns being more of a rectangular shape.

To reduce this redundancy, Stocklot Pictures are now shown on a page in the Colors and Samplers section, and colors can now be selected from a drop-down list, for the different stocklot quantities - 25, 50, 100 or 200.

Our shipping options have improved. The Canada Post shipping rates now show correctly in US dollars, instead of Canadian dollars, when the selected currency is US Dollar. Also, we are now able to offer some better pricing on Fedex shipping. For Fedex International Priority shipments, weighing between 3 kg. - 10 kg., the Fedex rate discount is now increased from 25% to 40%. This will usually be of benefit for skin orders over 125 glazed, or 150 suede. The discount does not show on-line, but the transaction cost will be adjusted. As progress is being made in sorting our large inventory into color groups and specific colors, our website has been updated to offer stocklot pricing on specific colors, replacing what was previously referred to as "Preferred Colors" stocklots.
Our offering of Factory Seconds now includes the major color groups - reds, blues, greens, browns, light colors, or an assorted variety. An offering of glazed Factory Seconds has been added.
We have also added to our Sampler section, to offer some of the fancier finishes that our leather has been manufactured in, which includes high grain glazed finishes, as well as silk, pearlized and foil finishes. We stock these in smaller quantities than our usual glazed and suede skins.
This page will be updated from time to time, to let you know if there are significant changes on our website. A video to give you further information on the colors that our skins are offered in, is expected to be added shortly.
